Welcome to the new Mountain Cats TNR website!
The mission of Mountain Cats TNR, Inc is to control the population of feral cats in the Jefferson County, WV area by using Trap-Neuter-Return. The cats that we can not return to the areas where they were found we adopt out to wonderful new homes. Often times there are mom cats with kittens or just cats with really great personalities that we hope can find families. The feral cats are so grateful for a second chance at life.
What is TNR?
TNR or Trap-Neuter-Return is a method to humanely control stray-feral cat populations. Cats are caught in live traps then spayed or neutered, vaccinated and ear-tipped by a licensed veterinarian. Ear tipping provides visual confirmation to volunteers the cat has been trapped previously. Once completed, cats are returned to their neighborhood colony.
